Abanodonment
(Mixed Medium: 24x30)
Abandonment

This is my rendition of a photo of what appears to be an old metal barn or shed with rusted roof panels and in general disrepair. It made me reflect on life. In life, we abandon people or things for any number of reasons. Some of those reasons are valid while others probably not so much. At the time, it is what we do or have to do, i.e., abandon someone or something. It can also happen to us where we are abandoned by others be they our parents, siblings, spouses, significant other, trusted friends, even by employers. When we work our way through an ordeal of abandonment, perhaps many of them, we might be damaged goods for a time or for the rest of our lives depending on the severity of the abandonment. This building still stands although apparently weathered and torn from years of neglect or like many people simply abandonment. People, as well as things, have their own degree and strength of resiliency.
