Messengers
(Acrylics: 18x24)
Messengers

It was a cold day just after a rain. The wind was blowing fairly strong. I was out in my back yard checking to see if the drains had remained cleared. I found a good sized puddle of water that had been blocked by debris from flowing to the drain. Suddenly, the thought of someone who had been murdered years ago came to mind. We never got to know each other but we had exchanged pleasantries a few times. Something about her stuck to me because I simply cannot forget her. I know she will live on in my memory for the rest of my life. I think of her from time to time but it's not always intentional. The memory of her can just pop up as it did this time. As I thought of her, I gazed into the puddle. The wind was causing a gentle rippling of the puddled water. The painting is what I saw, with my mind's eye, in the puddle.
