Reaper

(Acrylics: 30X24)

Reaper

This painting resulted from my thinking about the Reaper. While on the road, I heard this song about the Reaper. It was a popular tune called Don't Fear the Reaper. When I got home, I couldn't shake the song and began thinking about the Reaper. In my mind, I couldn't picture the Reaper as something to be frightened of since we all must face the Reaper sooner or later. I envisioned the Reaper as sort of a doorman that stands at a portal awaiting us when we die. I pictured the portal to be similar to the Black Holes astronomers have identified in space. The Reaper guided by the stars determines where we are to be taken to on the other side where we will continue our individual journey.
