I saw this painting in my mind as I reflected on how we develop the ability to screen. We might screen conversations to determine sincerity, truthfulness, and more. We might screen the messages, recordings, in our head that may be negative and hopefully replace them with positive messages. We might screen individuals when we first meet them, sizing them up so to speak, determining background, education level, and socio-economic status. We might screen for good among evil or vice-versa. Whether we are aware of it, or not, we screen automatically to some extent.
