This painting is a rendition of a photo I came across that exemplified my lifelong need, desire, to get away, to run away, from all of it, from everyone, to be peacefully alone and tranquil. While I was painting, I imagined that I would own a helicopter to keep in touch with society at large and to obtain supplies when needed. Since boyhood, I have always wanted to learn to pilot a helicopter but just never got around to it. I imagined having a couple of dogs and cats for company. The weather would always be ideal except for occasional fog. I had to paint what seemed like an ideal of my peaceful Solitude.
