A while ago, I viewed a documentary about an artist. It was a lengthy presentation of the artist's life with commentary by those that knew the artist. The commentary and presentation included the artist's work but what really held my interest was the artist's life, trials and tribulations. The life story moved me deeply and I began to have parallel thoughts about the artist's life span, her work, alongside what I was actually viewing. It felt like I was divided, two people, yet one. The result of the experience ended up with this painting, Twisted. The artist's life span took many twists as most likely anyone's life span does while living their life especially if the individual has a tortured soul. The documentary of the artist was profoundly moving to me. I know it will take me some time to let the artist go completely from my mind. The artist was Eva Hesse.
