This painting is from a sketch i made long ago. It was one of those days when I pause to reflect on my life. The painting represents my travels physically and mentally looking for home. It is a road I have traveled only to find myself blocked from discovery of home. The mountains are life's block preventing me to continue to the other side where I know my home is waiting for me. The road represents a loop where I travel forward only to be blocked and having to return to my starting point. For years since I was a teenager, I have been looking for home. After several years, I decided that wherever I slept, even for one night, I would call it home though I knew it really wasn't home. Where I live now, where I sleep it is just a house, a bunker. It is not home. Home to me is a feeling, a sense of belonging, fated roots. I may never find it but I will keep looking for my home.
